A celebration of the making of the NMMU academic project will be held through seminars, panel discussions and a public lecture or colloquium involving staff and students.
Madibaz Day
The Madibaz Day exhibition on Monday 11 May will give NMMU the opportunity to showcase both the academic project and its support services. The expo follows the annual Open Day aimed at giving prospective students the chance just to see what NMMU offers - 450 programmes across 120 different career fields.
Using the same infrastructure, faculties, schools, departments and other units will also showcase their achievements of the past 10 years in various formats, including PowerPoint displays, demonstrations and other visuals.
The expo will allow staff and student to see what each department is doing and hopefully leave with a sense of pride in what has been achieved in the university’s first decade.
The expo will run from 11am to 3pm to allow staff and students to explore the expo at their own convenience.
Transformation Debate
An open debate facilitated by the University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Derrick Swartz and six executive deans will be held at 5pm on Tuesday 12 May in the Indoor Sports Centre. The subject of transformation will be discussed.
The debate is aimed at staff and students, but is also open to the wider NMMU community.
